Florida is a southern state of the USA.
It rises on the most part of the homonym peninsula and it takes the name
from the adjective in Spanish language that is for "full of
flowers"; the word was schoosed because this region was discovered in
the period of Easter, called, note in Spanish language, "florid
Pascua".
HISTORY OF FLORIDA
The archaeological recoveries show that Florida was already inhabited
thousand of years before the arrival of the European colonies. The most
known of the native tribes are the Aises, the Apalachees, the Calusas, the
Timucuas and the Tocobagos. We don't neglect the presence of the
Seminoles, fair and noble tribe that knew how to bravely withstand for
years the preponderant military and demografic pressure of the USA.
Juan Ponce de Leon, a Spanish conqueror, imposed the name to the Florida
on April the 2 of 1513, on the occasion of the Pascua Florida (Spanish
term for the Easter period). In the following centuries both French that
the Spaniards created colonies in the peninsula with alternate phases of
success.
The United Kingdom diplomatically earned the control
of the Florida in the 1764. The British tried to develop the Florida with
the importation of immigrants to create job but the project failed. Spain
regained the Florida after the defeat of the English against the American
colonies and the 1783 Versailles consequent Essay. Finally, in 1819,
according to the terms of the Essay of Adams-Onis, the Spain gave the
Florida to the United States in exchange for the Texas.
FLORIDA POPULATION
In Florida live about 20 million people, according on the 2006 census.
WEATHER IN FLORIDA
The climate of the Florida is moderate thanks to its proximity to the
water. A big part of the state has a damp subtropical climate except for
the part to the south extreme that has a tropical climate. Occasionally
the cold fronts bring strong winds and cold temperatures during the late
autumn and in the winter. The seasons in Florida are articulated more by
the precipitations that by the temperature. The winters are relatively
buckets (dry season) and warm and damp summers (damp season). The Tide of
